About Us

We’re a farming family who wanted to give our kids a chance to forge their own path in agriculture. So, we started them off with a small herd of beef cattle, and it’s been wonderful watching them grow their business on our properties in Gympie, QLD and Warialda, NSW. Like all farmers, they’ve faced the usual challenges—rising costs for fuel, feed, chemicals, fencing, vehicles, insurance, and the unpredictable livestock markets and weather.

That’s why we looked at ways to diversify and secure their future. Renewable energy stood out as a steady, long-term income stream that wouldn’t interfere with our cattle or farming operations. Plus, the upgrades to our internal roads and the extra work—like firebreaks and weed control for the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)—gave our son another income boost with equipment he already had.

We decided to move ahead with a BESS on our property, working closely with two experienced renewable energy developers who together bring over 25 years of experience in the sector. Their deep knowledge and practical advice gave us confidence, and involving our kids in the process was a huge bonus. The experience was so positive that when they asked if we’d recommend them to other farmers, we said yes straight away. That’s how Ag Energy Australia – Farmers for Farmers – was born. We’re excited to share this journey with others in the farming community.
